Resurveys of subdivisions boundaries. Relocations of streets and block corners.
Lecture Three: Subdivision Resurveys II
Establishment of lots within subdivisions. Locations of mistakes and proration of excess deficiencies. Remnant principle. Establishment of lots adjoining subdivision boundaries.
Lecture Four: Resurveys from “OF” Descriptions
Locations of the dividing line for distance, proportional and acreage “of” descriptions. Effect of closing and opening streets.
Lecture Five: Locating Easements and Reversions
Easement rights and fee rights. Conveyances to right-of-way lines. Division of ownership in vacated streets.

General overview of the system and its introduction with the Seven Ranges in Ohio. Beginning of the original surveys in Arkansas. System of meridian, base line, standard parallels and guide meridians.
Lecture Two: Original Surveys in Arkansas I
Original surveys of the township boundaries and surveys for subdividing the townships into sections
Lecture Three: Original Surveys in Arkansas II
Completion of surveys for subdividing the townships. Fractional sections and meanders. Original notes and GLO plats.
Lecture Four: Protraction of Sections
Detailed procedures on how the fractional sections were protracted. Examples of exceptions to the general public.
Lecture Five: Subdivision of the Sections
Statutory and case law pertaining to subdividing sections into aliquot parts. Field methods and calculation procedures required for subdividing.
Lecture Six: Proportionate Measure
Calculation procedures for establishing sixteenth and blank quarter corners by proportionate measure. Subdividing fractional sections with special treatment of closing corners in cases of overlaps and gaps.
Lecture Seven: Retracement Surveys
Resolving conflicts between GLO plats and notes. Locating and recognizing original evidence. Typical steps in a retracement survey to include: record research, field research, and field surveys.
